Our Christmas was so much fun! The twins were so interactive and actually opened their presents this year! Kinsley loved her new dolly and stuffed animals. Kyson was excited about pretty much everything. Especially his golf clubs!
The day after Christmas we went to California to spend time with the Tibbitts side, we even took a trip to San Diego and played on the beach!

Every year we try to take family pictures for our Christmas cards, well we attempted to take them the day after Thanksgiving but as we were walking out the door I somehow sprained my ankle pretty badly and we weren't able to take any family pictures in time to send out Christmas cards this year. So for all of you who usually get cards but didn't this year, don't worry we didn't forget about you, we just didn't get the chance to send them out this year.

Lil' Pirates

This year we decided to dress up the twins as pirates. They were so adorable! But of course, they wouldn't keep their pirate hats on for very long! Anyway, we had a fun Halloween, we went to the local halloween carnival then came home and had a little halloween party. I'm excited for actual trick-or-treating next year!

Busy Busy Graduate Student

I feel like I keep up with freinds blogs pretty well, but when it comes to updating my own its hard to find the time. I started the graduate program at USU about three weeks ago and even though its only part-time ( one night a week) I feel like it consumes any free time I get ( free time= when the twins are sleeping). I am going back to school to get my degree in family therapy so August of 2014 I hope to be a licensed family therapist. I'm excited about the degree, but not so excited about getting back into homework, lectures, and writing papers, but we felt inspired that now was the time to do it, three years just seems like such a long time!

Anyway, the twins are 15 months now and as busy as ever! When do they stop throwing everything out of the cabinets and trying to sit in kitchen drawers???!!!!!!!! I hope they lose interest soon, I can only duct tape cabinets so many times in a day :)

BYU football season has started and though Bryce and I aren't too much for football we love dressing the twins in BYU attire. As you can see Kinsley is wearing a UTAH jersey and we aren't fans of Utah but I am a big fan of pink, and BYU doesn't make pink jerseys for little girls so until they do Kins will be wearing this.....

Tibbitts Family Reunion

Last week was the Tibbitts Family Reunion, we traveled to Warm River Idaho and camped for 4 days with all of bryces siblings and their families. It was fun to see everyone and have a nice relaxing weekend. Our dirty little family, after 3 days without a shower! Yuck.

13 months

My twins are already 13 months ( almost 14). Time really goes by so fast, It seems like just yesterday I was taking pictures at 1 month! Twins can be such a handful and most days pretty hard, but with each month they grow up a little more, get a little easier and become more of kids rather than babies. Its bitter sweet.

Anyway Mom and I decided to take the kids out into the field and take some pictures. I get so frustrated when we are shooting because they do not cooperate at ALL! But we actually did get a few good ones, so it was worth it. :)

I often get asked "How do you do it?" Not that I really have a choice to do it or not, but my response is always the same, "I dont know any different." I am grateful that my twins came first, because taking care of 2 babies everyday is my "normal." Taking care of twins might be twice as hard but it's also twice as rewarding. With two:

You can watch them have bubble fights
Give each other kisses
Listen to them babble to each other and play with the blinds
Watch them play and laugh at each other.

My new hobby...Cakes

My sister and sister in-law inspired me to start making fondant cakes. They still dont look too professional but it's so fun to make them and have them for special occasions. I have made a few more than these but these are my favorite, the latest were cakes for the twins birthdays, it was hard but so worth it (the tiara was alot of work, and took 4 days to dry).

It's so fun to have fancy cakes for birthdays and special occasions, and by the time the kids are 12 or 13 I might have practiced enough to make some really fancy ones, thats the hope anyway.

It was a Fun few days! Thursday was Kinsleys birthday, Friday was Kysons Birthday and Saturday we had a big BBQ and birthday party. I cant believe my babies are already 1!

So a few years ago my sweet hubby bought me a nice camera and last Christmas I got a nice flash to go with it. I love taking pictures, especially of my kids, but no matter how many pictures I take I still don't feel like I'm getting closer to becoming a good photographer. What is the secret??!!!

Here are a few pictures I took of the kiddies this weekend. It has finally warmed up for the twins to play outside, they love it! I think I maybe got 3-4 pictures of them looking out of the 100 I took, my kids do not like to cooperate!

Easter & the Grand Canyon

For Easter we all took a trip to the Grand Canyon. Mom and Dad rented a beautiful house in Flagstaff AZ, Friday we spent all day exploring the Grand Canyon (which was beautiful). Saturday we spent the day celebrating Easter, with an Easter Egg hunt ( Kinsley and I found the Golden Egg with $50!!) then watched the twins open their Easter baskets. It was a VERY LONG trip, especially with the twins but it was a fun Easter Weekend.

This past weekend we took the kids to Las Vegas for the first time. We went to Circus Circus ( the only kid friendly casino) and played some games, Kyson wasnt too thrilled about all the prizes we won for him.
We went to visit bryce's brother and his family, the weather was so nice, it was so fun to get the kids out of the house and play in the park. Kinsley went crazy, she giggled and smiled the whole time. We have to get one of these swings, they fit perfectly!
Once again, kyson didnt really care that it was his first time down a slide, but kinsley was all smiles!
Little Toby had a birthday while we were visiting and he let Kins and Ky ride in the back of his new Toy. Power Wheels must be the most exciting present for a kid to get, I always wanted one now I think Kins and Ky do too. :) It was such a great weekend, and I was due for a little vacation.

We recently attended a wedding for my cousin. It was a long day for the twins, and they weren't too thrilled about being dressed up all day. This picture says it all. :)

A few days ago Kyson had a big accident, we were down at great grandmas house and he touched her fireplace, it was the saddest thing! He cried for a few hours after it happened but hasn't cried since, I have the toughest little boy in the world! I called the doctor to see what we needed to do and he advised that once it popped we needed to cut off the excess skin. He could tell I was really worried and feeling really bad so he tried to console me by letting me know his little boy had the same accident and that I wasn't a bad parent. I felt so bad I think I cried more than Kyson did, I just hated myself for not preventing it, I always try to be so careful! But Kyson is such a brave little guy and didn't even cry when bryce cut the skin off. The next day we was back to his happy little self, crawling around with a bandage and a glove on his little hand.

Kinsley has been crawling for a few months now and she has been into everything! Now, she is only 7 months old and she is pulling herself up and walking along the couch, its too soon! She is growing up so fast! Kyson is just now crawling but he would rather straighten his legs and get around that way, he's so fun to watch. I cant believe how fast the time goes, it's hard to believe they are already 7 months old!

Winter Wonderland

I have always been the type who feels if its not a white Christmas, its not Christmas. But we are getting more snow than anyone in the state! These pictures don't really do justice to just how much snow we've had, Bryce has always wanted to move back to California ( where he grew up) and the only time I even slightly consider it is during winters like these. :)

I just wish the twins were older so we could really enjoy it, but its been way to cold to take them out. Anyway, here are a few fun pics we've taken recently.

Twins First Christmas!

Our first Christmas with the twins was priceless! It was so much fun to help them open presents and play with all their new toys. Kinsley had so many boxes and wrapping paper to crawl around in, she enjoyed that more than her toys i think. :)

We had a wonderful Christmas, full of presents, time with family, games and food. The twins were having so much fun they didn't go to bed until 10:00! Two hours past their bed time. What a great first Christmas!

These are a few of my favorite pictures from our 6 month photo shoot. I thought they turned out so great! Sometimes I think I have too many pictures of the twins, and I dont know what to do with all of them. But everyone keeps telling me " you can never have too many pictures"

Anyway, we are here in the basin now and it feels so wierd to be back after 6 years in the city. There are so many things I miss already, the mall, every store you could possibly want, a great variety of restaurants, great doctors and hospitals, & friends we've made, just to name a few. But I am really happy about getting the chance to be closer to family, and to get to raise my kids in a place that I feel is much safer than the city. We are starting a new chapter in our lives and I'm learning that time really does go by so fast, so I'm going to try and cherish every moment, and be grateful for all I have been blessed with at this time in my life.

Sunday Dress & Update

Today I actually had two seconds to take a few pictures of the twins in their Sunday clothes, which dosen't happen too often. I was so excited Kinsley finally fits into this outfit, it is my absolute favorite! It's like she is my own little dress-up dolly. :)

UPDATE-So for those of you who don't already know. Bryce & I are moving AGAIN! But this time we are hoping to make it the last town we move to. Yes, that's right we are moving back to my home town! I can't say I was super excited at first because I have become somewhat of a "city girl" over the last 6 years, I am really going to miss the restaurants, friends, and the fun city life can offer, but Kyson & Kinsley have really changed my outlook and I know that moving back is the right thing for our little family, I have always wanted my kids to grow up in the country. I am excited to be surrounded by family (and the extra help:), the open fields, fresh air, and the fun that the country has to offer. So the beginning of December we are saying goodbye to the city life and hello to the county life. :)

The Twins 1st Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween with the twins. All day they wore their matching "My 1st Halloween" outfits, later that day we carved pumpkins with my sister and her husband and Bryce carved Kins & Ky into his pumpkin (so cute). Later that night we went with the family to the Neola School Halloween carnival that I went to when I was a kid. We had so much fun, Halloween is so much fun with kids!!

Great Weekend

We had such a great weekend up at Sundance, family, games, food and fun!! And its such a gorgeous time of year! We even went on the ski lift and Kyson Loved it !!! Thanks everyone it was such a wonderful weekend!

Labor day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend, we went with my family up to Flaming Gorge. It was such a nice weekend and the twins really enjoyed camping and being on the boat, they didnt love their lifejackets but once the boat was going, they fell right to sleep. They love the outdoors!

What a great get-away weekend it was, we find ourselves constantly finding excuses to get out of the house especially when we know we will have family around to help with the twins. We are so blessed to have so many people to turn to for help with the twins when we really need a break. I think heavenly father blessed us with twins because he knew we would have the help we needed. We love our twins so much, but you never really know how hard twins are until you have them yourself.

We did the baby blessings two weeks ago, and we had so much support from our family, our bishop was nice enough to let us bless our twins on a Saturday evening in the relief society room. Which was so wonderful because we had so many family members attend. They were beautiful blessings and such an emotional experience, we were so lucky to have so much support. Bryce's brother Kyle and his wife Tabitha suprised us with these two amazing cakes for the twins, which we enjoyed at our dinner afterward. It was such a great night!

I cant believe how fast the time goes. Our adoreable twins are already 3 months old this week! They have been so much fun lately, smiling and interacting more. They are alot of work but the smiles make it all worth it.

As a gift my friend Kali had her photographer friend come take pictures of the twins,( thanks Kal! :) and it wasnt easy. Kyson was so fussy when she came the first day that she had to come back a different time, the second time she came Kinsley was fussy so needless to say we didnt get many good pictures of them together but as you can see we got some great individual pictures. (I'll post the twins pics a little later.) It was so much fun to get professional pictures of them while they are still so small, and the photographer was so great and patient with the twins when they refused to cooperate. Anyway, I am so happy with how they turned out, here are a few of my favorites.

Update:

It has been 5 weeks since the twins were born and I just barely found the time to update our blog, things have been really crazy! You really dont know how hard twins are until you have them yourself. Luckily, Bryce is able to stay home with me now and help take care of them, I really admire those women who manage to do it alone. We maybe get 3-4 hours of sleep every night and try to sleep whenever we get the chance. But they are doing well and growing so fast, we love them so much and even though they are a handful, we wouldnt have it any other way.

Kyson Rodney & Kinsley Debbie Tibbitts are finally here! After a VERY LONG LABOR, Kinsley arrived at 11:30 on June 2nd weighing 7 lbs! Kyson followed 75 minutes later at 12:45 on June 3rd weighing 7lbs 2 oz. Yes, our twins that just 14 weeks ago the doctors worried would be born premature and very small turned out to be just as big and bigger than most singleton babies, our doctor said Kyson & Kinsley were the biggest twins she has ever delivered, we are just so happy they are healthy and were able to come home with us. Kyson was on oxygen for the first few hours and his blood sugar was a little low, but by 5am Thursday morning they were both in our arms and doing great. We were released from the hospital on Friday night and though these first few nights at home have been hard, we have never been happier. Words cant express how much joy these two adoreable babies have brought into our lives. We love being parents!

Howland/Tibbitts Baby Shower

Saturday my two sister in-laws, Caitlin & Virginia threw a family baby shower for us. It was such a nice shower, and we recieved so many nice things. Attached is a picture of the diaper cakes Caitlin & Virginia made, they were adoreable! They did such a great job putting the shower together, we had delicious strawberry & banana crepes, opened presents and played a few games including a game with 5 diapers all with different smashed candy bars inside and everyone had to smell the diapers and guess what kind of candy bar it was. It was really funny to watch everyone smell the diapers. It was a great shower, and it was really nice to get out of the house for a little while. Thanks so much to everyone who attended the shower, and Virginia & Caitlin for putting it all together.

And just a short update, I am 35 weeks now and everyday we get more and more anxious to get them here, I could deliver any day now but we honestly didnt think we would make it this far so it's hard to say when they will finally come. Because twins are full term at about 37-38 weeks, my doctor said they will plan to induce me June 3rd if I make it that long. So the latest they will be here is about 3 weeks, which seems so far away yet so soon at the same time. :)

Home Sweet Home!

We are FINALLY home! After 6 weeks in the hospital they finally released us. We arrived home this morning and I cant even express how excited I was, I kept commenting on how much I missed everything. After 6 weeks in a hospital bed you come to appreciate even the littlest things like riding in a car, sitting on your own couch, and even home made tuna fish sandwiches. And I am really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.
Though it's so nice to finally be home, being in the hosptial really wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, mostly because we had so much support from friends and family. Mom and Dad would visit every weekend and bring food, goodies, movies and anything else we needed. Bryce's aunt Teresa was especially helpful, she prepared home-made dinner for Bryce every night! Having her help was such a blessing during this time, and it also gave me the chance to get to know her a little better, she really is the sweetest lady and we appreciated her so much.
So anyway we are glad to be home and hope we can stay here at least a few more weeks before I deliver. It still seems so unreal that we will be parents soon, maybe it's because I've been on bedrest and havent really been able to buy and prepare everything for when they get here or maybe it's something every first time parent goes through, I'm not really sure. But we are excited and hope we'll get the hang of it really fast.

New Ultrasound Pics

These are the latest ultrasounds for the twins. Today I got a little vacation from my room and took a trip to the ultrasound room. :) I couldnt believe how clear their facial features were, the pictures dont really do justice to the real ultrasound but its still pretty incredible. There is also a picture of all 4 feet together, I thought that was really cute. They are both about 2 lbs 10 oz now and getting bigger everyday. And the ultrasound helped solve the mystery of why my ribs were so sore all the time, Kyson thinks its entertaining to punch me in ribs. But I cant complain too much yet, besides sore ribs and a HUGE belly everything else is going really well.

Yes, Im still in the hospital, today makes 4 weeks i've been here but its gone by suprisingly fast, we have had so much support from family and friends that is has really made being here so much easier( Thanks everyone!). The doctors are planning to let me go home in another 2 weeks if nothing changes, so thats something to look forward to. Besides that there isnt a whole lot to report, everything is good and we are so grateful that the twins are healthy and getting bigger every day.

Another suprise...Bed Rest

So just a little update. Last Wednesday Bryce and I went in for what we thought was a routine ultrasound at Timpanogos hospital, little did we know it would result in me ending up in the hospital on permanate bed rest. Apparantly things werent looking to great and the doctors were afraid I would go into labor soon, so they stuck me in an ambulance and rushed me to the University of Utah hospital (the only hospital in the state equipped to handle babies at 24 weeks). Once we got here they took me straight to labor and delivery and put in an IV (the most painful thing ever!) and we were pretty much there all day. That night they transfered me to the OB/GYN unit, which is where I will be staying for the next 3 months!
It has already been a week since I was admitted to the hospital, it has gone suprisingly fast thanks to all the friends and family that come to visit. Though bed rest is something I was really hoping wouldnt be something we would have to deal with, I am handling it suprisingly well. I am still able to work, which is such a relief, and my family comes to visit regularly. I dont know what we would do without the support of our family and friends! Thanks everyone, for all the visits, food, cards, books and support! We love you guys!

Our TWINS!

Here our most recent ultrasound pictures, taken about 3 weeks ago. Baby A is our little girl (mega close-up) and Baby B is our little boy (he looks like he is sucking his thumb already. :). The third picture is a shot of their heads together, which I think is so sweet. Our next ultrasound is next week and I'm excited to see how much they've grown. Ultrasounds are so fun!

Valentines Day

Bryce suprised me with the most beautiful quilt. Totally me!! Pink, Black and White. And Bryce got lots of candy, a shirt and a Wii game. It kinda stinks Valentines day was on a sunday but we made the best of it by making a nice dinner and exchanging gifts. Our last Valentines day with just the two of us!

So just a brief update.
Things are going well, but I have to admit the bigger I get and the closer it gets to my due date the more scared Iget! Yes, im looking forward to being a mommy but I worry about all the little things that come with becoming a new mom and what a huge lifestyle change it will be for us. Am
I really ready for all of this? Especially TWINS? Maybe it just comes with pregnancy but I am so up and down about how I feel about being a new mom, one day I am so excited and the next I am scared to death!
On a happier note, the twins are developing as expected and so far there have been no major concerns. We have an ultrasound every month to make sure they are both doing well, Bryce and I look forward to our monthly visits, its kinda fun to be able to see them every month and see how much they change and grow in just 4 weeks. They are so cute!
And yes, we have names picked out!! Kyson & Kinsley Tibbitts! It was actually a pretty simple process, we came to an agreement really fast. And now it's one less thing we have to worry about. :)

NEWS!!!!

Just before Christmas Bryce and I went in for another ultrasound. We went in not expecting to find out the sex of the babies until at least mid-January, but to our suprise the doctor was able to tell us with 95% assurity what we will be having. So....................
Thats right! We are having one of each. Which is exactly what we were hoping for. Bryce really wanted a little boy and I really wanted a little girl. We were so excited the day we found out we decided to go shopping, Bryce shopped in the little boy section while I shopped in the little girl section. We know it will be more expensive to have one of each but we couldn't be happier!!!!!

A Little Announcement

We are having a baby...well... TWO BABIES. We are having TWINS!!!!!! We found out October 17th and couldnt wait to go to Roosevelt to tell my mom and dad that they are finally going to be grandparents. We debated for a while about how to tell them, we finally decided to put up a banner in their room and suprise them. They were so excited! Mom even jumped up and down. It was so much fun to see their reaction.

Bryce and I are so excited to finally start our litte family. And yes, twins came as quite a shock, I dont really know anyone that has had twins so this its a little scary but we are really excited! And for all of my friends who have had kids, I would appreciate any advice. :)

A few weeks ago Bryce and I took a trip to California, to visit Bryces family and to hang out with my family at Disneyland! Call me a child, but I felt gitty walking in! We spent two days in Disneyland and even though it was really hot we had such a good time, and even managed to get season passes.

So these last few months have been crazy! Work has kept me traveling alot over these last few months. First it was Family Camp in Jackson Hole WY, which my whole family came to and it was a blast! Then just last week I had a conference in Washington D.C. I was really excited because I had been to D.C. when I was 13 but I didnt remember much so I really felt like i was going for the first time. My parents decided to come with me to D.C. a few days before my conference to go exploring, and even though it was blistering hot and humid (which i absolutely hate being hot!) we still managed to have a really good time! I am so glad my parents were able to come with me, it made it so much fun! So out of everything we saw in D.C. I have to admit that the Lincoln Memorial was my absolute favorite, not just because its an awesome statue, but because Lincoln was truly the greatest president we ever had. He stood for everything a president of the United States should stand for! It was truly amazing to be in a place with so much of our nations history, seeing the declaration of independance and constitution was an especially humbling experience.

The conference was really lame but Emily made it bareable, it was nice to have one of my staff with me this time, we had alot of fun together. (Thanks Em!) Overall D.C. was awesome! I love my job!

My first sewing project!

So I have never really learned how to sew, so this was a big project for me. I went to the store to buy some curtians for our room and it would have cost over $70 for the ones I liked so i decided to be brave and try and make my own. I bought the material for $10 and started sewing by hand, after hours and hours of sewing and re-sewing i decided to use one of the sewing machines in the 4H office. I had to have someone from work show me how to use the sewing machine ( i know, sad huh) and I used one of the Sewing machines in the office to finish my project.

The lines are really crooked, and up close you can totally tell they are home made but i was proud of my first sewing project. It not only saved me a ton of money but it gave me the desire to try some other sewing projects. :)

Family House warming BBQ

So we finally had my family over for a House warming party a few weeks ago, to show everyone our new house. We had a BBQ and snowcones! It was so nice to have everyone in our new house. Though it was kinda wierd having to be the host for the first time, its usually my mom. I guess i am officially growing up. :) Thanks family for coming over! We love you guys!

Bryce and I have been married TWO whole years now. It has really gone by so fast. We had a wonderful anniversary weekend in Las Vegas, and we went to Cirque Du Solei's "O" one of the best shows in all of Vegas. And it was amazing! The rest of the time we went out to eat at massive buffets, walked around the different hotels & shopped. Bryce got me a guess watch for our anniversary ( i havent taken it off since, i love it!) and tickets to see Collective Soul in concert with some of our friends and a really sweet card ( i love sentimental things!) . He really out did me, I got him a t-shirt & some movies :). We had such a great time we didnt want to come home.

So bryce and I were bored on sunday, so i decided to wrap up something I was going to give him on our anniversary and let him open it. I tried to make it really hard to unwrap, but suprisingly he got through it really fast. It was so funny watching him unwrap it, he's like a little kid. Anyway, I got him his favorite disney movie, THE MIGHTY DUCKS and we watched it together. Good times!

The new deck

As some of you may know, Bryce loves construction and anything to do with building. So his first project since moving into our new house was to build a deck. This was his first time building a deck and I was a little nervous as so how it would turn out but he did an amazing job. And all i had to do was help him paint. :)

Salt Lake Temple

This weekend Bryce's counsin was getting married so we spent a whole day with Bryces family up in Salt Lake it was a beautiful wedding, luncheon and reception. And such a prime time to get married, during tulip season, the flowers were gorgeous! Though it did rain most of the day the pictures were still beautiful. The Salt Lake Temple is by far the most gorgeous temple!

This is our new home! Some of you have asked for pictures and though we arent completely done decorating/organizing everything just yet I thought I would give you a glimpse into our new home. We have officially been moved in for about 3 weeks and didnt realize how little furniture we had until we tried to furnish an entire house, but we figure it will take some time before we can get every room the way we want it. And the back yard is unfinished so that's Bryces summer project; a lawn, deck and fence! And I am going to attempt to plant my very first garden and lucky for me I work with lots of people who are expert gardeners. So we will see how that goes. Anyway, we are so happy to be living in our new home and even more happy that the government is giving a huge tax break to first time home buyers!!

Elder Hirschi Is HOME! MY family came home from Peru on Saturday afternoon and Bryce and I met them at the airport with Krispy Kreme doughnuts ( something we thought kenny would enjoy, since he hasnt had them in 2 whole years!) Then Kenny wanted some "American Mexican food" so we went to Cafe Rio for lunch and listened to him tell stories about his mission in Peru. It was a very emotional day! But we are so glad to have the whole family together again!

Thursday night Alissa & Victory met us at the Salt Lake temple and we did a live session! It was way cool and very uplifting! And it was so fun to have a couple to go with! Afterward we went to P.F. Chang's and had a delicious chinese dinner. Alissa was my best friend in college and we had such a blast together, from dying each others hair to craming for our exams to watching our favorite show and going to applebees and ordering lots of dessert when we were feeling down. Alissa was one of the big reasons I loved my college years! I wish she lived closer, Nebraska is so far away! Anyway, Bryce and I had so much fun hanging out with them, we hope they come back to visit really soon!

NASCAR

This is us at the Las Vegas NASCAR races. We had alot of fun and it was way more exciting than I thought it would be, the race was 3 hours long but with 12 car crashes and all the excitement once you chose a car to cheer for its way fun!

Vegas Conference

So I have been traveling alot for work lately. But this last trip was the best by far. The 5 day 4H conference was a little long but I learned alot and had a great time with the people I went with. I roomed with a co-worker and we became alot closer, which was great. We had a fun time together, we walked the strip almost every night, had great food, sang Karoke ( which we totally sucked at :) stayed out late, and explored almost everything Vegas had to offer. It was a great conference. And its alot more fun when you dont have to travel by yourself!

Valentines in Vegas

I had a week long conference last week in Las Vegas. Friday after the conference bryce came down and we spent our Valentines in Vegas a day early. We had a fabulous Buffet dinner then went to the Mirage to watch the volcano, we walked around the strip for a while then went back to our penthouse suit overlooking the strip and Bellagio water fountains. It was an amazing room! On the same floor as the movie "What happens in Vegas." We drove home saturday and Bryce bought me a Nikon D60 camera! two dozen roses, and the movie "Nights in Rodanthe" Then we made a candlelight dinner for each other and watched a movie. It was a great Valentines weekend.

Hoover Dam

The first day we arrived in Vegas, we decided to take a little trip out to the Hoover Dam, about 15 miles outside of Vegas. The Hoover Dam tour, was actually interesting. Though everyone seems to believe that there can never be enough dam jokes when your inside a dam. ( They're wrong:)

Louisiana Conference

So this last Tues. - Thurs. was my first official work conference trip taken all by myself! And I was scared to death to do it alone especially since New Orleans is the second most dangerous city in the entire United States!! The flights were long and annoying but overall I came out alive. And the conference was awesome! I was able to meet mentoring program directors from all over the US, and hear their success stories. It really made me appreicate my job, being the director of a program that changes the lives of so many struggling youth is very humbling and fulfilling. I came away with a new appreication for mentoring and the importance of being a positive role model. And even though Im advised not to have a mentee because Im the director of the program I am getting a mentee as soon as I can. One of the speakers at the conference talked about his experience as a "mentee" his mentor came into his life when he was 14 when he had been in and out of detention centers and dealing drugs, etc. And he even tried to push his mentor out of his life but his awesome mentor stayed dedicated to the relationship and eventually gained his trust and respect. Because of his mentor he decided to change his life and make something of himself now he owns 2 successful companies and has 3 mentees of his own, and he attributes all of it to the one man in his life who never let him down .. his mentor " He was the only person who believed in me" he said. He and his mentor still talk every week! This story was so powerful and inspirational. It just goes to show how only dedicating a few hours a week can make a world of difference in the life of a child.

This is Hillary, she is the friend I made while at the conference, she is the grant writer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Philly, she was way fun to hang out with. Since we both came alone we were happy to make a friend and have someone to go exploring with. This is us on Burbon Street, where Mardi Gras is held!! and its a scary place one of the most dangerous places in the united states, we were whistled at and stopped a few times by drunk wierdos! So needless to say we were so freaked out we went straight back to the hotel after eating, we were back to the hotel by 8pm.

If you can't tell, bryce is wearing a new years top hat and I have on a new years headband. It took me forever to convince bryce to even wear it, so when he finds out you cant even see the new years part Im sure he'll freak. We spent new years up at my aunt house, our cousin Mike just got home from his mission so my family came out and we spent the day with them. It was alot of fun.

Elder Barney Is home! We went up to Syracuse to Celebrate. We had a fun little get-together on New Years Day and listened to Mike tell some mission stories, we had snow cones then went to the mall to shop around. It was a blast! We love our cousins!

We love Christmas

Christmas was so wonderful! We got to spend it at my house this year and it was a blast! We got up around 6 and started opening presents. Bryce suprised me with a digital frame for my big gift, and he got all 6 seasons of the tv show 24 (lame but thats what he wanted) so we were both pretty happy with our gifts. Then mom and dad got us a professional SNOWIE snow cone maker! We were way excited, bryce and I love snow cones! And my dad got bryce a 22 pistol handgun. Its a really nice gun, and Bryces very first. So he was really excited.
Christmas was great! we opened presents and played games, had a big dinner with the entire family then had our very first Christmas Talent Show, and all the families had to do a talent. It was so much fun, and its a new tradition for our family now. We had a great Christmas! We were sad it had to end.

The day after christmas we all decided to go sledding! It was freezing but such a blast! We went down to my dads field, attached a car hood to the back of the razor and snowmobile and had the coldest ride of our lives. We only lasted for about an hour or so but we got such fun pictures. (If you cant tell the one on the left is my 'little' brother Danny. )

2008 Tree Ornament

So Bryce and I started a tradition last year to buy and write on a christmas tree ornament for every year we are married, So last year was two moose and this year since our tree is snowman themed, we did snowman. I think it will be fun 30 years from now to look back at all our ornaments that we wrote on. We write the year and how long we have been married on the ornament, then on the bottom write down where we were living at the time. Maybe its a little cheesy but I think its a fun tradition. Then when we have kid, maybe by next year, we will get an ornament with three characters. I want to start a lot of Christmas traditions with my family, I think it makes the holidays that much more fun.

So this was our picture for our chirstmas card this year. Last year I was really ambitious and hand made all my christmas cards that we sent out to our family and friends, this year I just bought some cute cards at the store and I'll be sending them out tomorrow. Things are great! And Im so excited its the Wonderful Christmas Season! Bryce and I have been to a few christmas shows this week and its been great to get us really into the holiday spirit. We went and saw the play A Christmas Carol. And I have to say that the story of scrooge is the best thing to get you into the Christmas spirit. At the office this year we are sponsoring a family for sub for santa, everyone pitched in all they could to provide for a latino family with three little boys. I was one of the lucky ones that got to go shopping for them and pick out some clothes and toys to deliver to them, Sub for Santa is such a great thing! I cant wait to go and deliver the gifts to the parents for them to wrap up and give to their kids on christmas day! There is nothing like service to get you into the christmas spirit.

This is our 'little' brother. Its hard to belive that just a few years ago he was only 4 ft. tall. He is definetly the biggest one in the family, kind of ironic being that he is the youngest, and I'm the oldest and the shortest one in the family. This time of year really makes me grateful for my family, Christmas really wouldnt be Christmas without spending it with the people you love. Bryces parents live in California, quite a ways away so we dont see them too often, but Im so grateful that my family is close and that we get to see them so much. I'm so excited we get to spend Christmas in Neola this year!

1st full size tree!

Our First Full Size Christmas Tree! We went shopping for our first full size christmas tree for almost 4 hours one night. We were both pretty picky about what we wanted. When we finally got it I had to go home and decorate it asap. So I pulled out all my snowman ornaments that I got 75% off last year and started decorating, then I made bryce download some christmas songs for me to listen to while I decorated. It was a great night!

This was on the Road To Hana, it was a 26 mile stretch of tiny windey roads going 20 mph. But the views were amazing! We were even able to stop and take pictures of some waterfalls! It was alot of driving in one day but the pictures we got made it well worth the trip.

Hawaii Baby!

Bryce and I recently returned from Hawaii. Behind us is one of the beautiful beaches of Maui. We were in Hawaii for 11 days with our Aunt and Uncle and their 2 kids. We had a blast and we hope to go back some day. We spent most of our time laying on thebeach and playing in the waves. We also went snorkling, the water was so clear we could see dozens of colorful fish! It was a fun experience. These sunset pictures are some of my favorite from the whole trip. I vowed to take 10x the amount of pictures I took last time we were in hawaii. And I think I came pretty close!

Bryce and I often go to Roosevelt and spend time with the family, we love to go 4-wheeling and boating with the fam. I love that we spend so much time with my family! And because bryce's parents live in California we dont see them to often, which is kinda sad, but at least we have family close by that we can have fun with.

These are the masks nikki and I made to go to the Masquerade Ball at the Castle in Provo. It was a blast! We got to wear our old prom dresses and dance the night away! We had so much fun making our masks and then wearing them. Of course mine is the pink one, and nikki made the black and red one. Going to a ball was so much fun, and probably the only one I will ever get to go to!

This is one of our engagement pictures. My mom took our pictures and we took over 500 pictures that day trying to find the perfect one for our announcements. Bryce hates getting his picture taken so he was so glad when we were finally done! It was a really long day! But mom did a really good job and we had lots of good pictures to choose from.

This is Bryce and I on a tour boat in London. The Tower of London is behind us. This was such a cool experience for us. We went with bryces family and we had a great time. And it was the first time for both of us to be out of the country, well besides mexico but that doesnt really count.
We were in London for a week in May and it was an awesome experience!

Engagement

This is us during our engagement. Bryce and I met through a few of our friends on a blind date, ( I always hated blind dates!!) But things worked out for us and we continued to date for 5 months before bryce proposed on a horse drawn sleigh ride up at park city. It was so romantic! We were engaged for 4 months and were married June 21, 2007 in the beautiful salt lake temple. And we love married life!
